JOHN UPTON KC

John holds the degree of LLM (Hons) from Victoria University of Wellington. He has been a barrister sole since 1986, and Queen's Counsel since 1991. John has also been admitted to practice in New South Wales, Fiji, Tonga, and Samoa.

John has conducted cases at all levels of the New Zealand judicial system (including the Privy Council on several occasions) and in most courts in the country. He has appeared before and been a member of various disciplinary tribunals over the years (including being chair of the Law Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal) relating to police, legal and medical practitioners.
